CATA community gathers for Saka Dawa Prayers

Saka Dawa is one of the holiest months in Buddhism as is marks the birth, enlightenment and death (parinirvana) of the Buddha Shakyamuni. Typically, the entire month is observed as sacred with prayer ceremonies held in the monasteries and communities throughout the month. Buddhists believe any merits collected during this holy month will have multiple effects.

Yesterday, on the 15th day of Saka Dawa (full moon day), the CATA community gathered at the Drikung Dharma Surya Center in Fairfax, VA to observe community prayers and a puja (soltsok).

The CATA Board would like to express its deep gratitude to DDSC for hosting this auspicious and important gathering and also its sincere appreciation to all the CATA members who attended this community prayer session.
